Sports, Entertainment & Arts Law

The SEAL Center is a dynamic and immersive experience in the legal, ethical, and business dimensions of the sports, entertainment, and arts industries.

Step Into the Spotlight Where Law Meets Sports, Entertainment, and the Arts.

The Sports, Entertainment, and Arts Law (“SEAL”) Center at Mississippi College School of Law is committed to providing students with the opportunity to explore legal, ethical, and business issues in the sports, entertainment, and arts industries through specialized coursework, professional networking, and hands-on learning opportunities. These increasingly intersecting areas involve labor and employment, corporate, intellectual property and commercial transactions law and require skills and knowledge in negotiating contracts, limiting liabilities, and addressing organizational and transactional legal issues.

Student Advisory Board: Network • Research • Impact

The SEAL Center Student Advisory Board is a leadership group that partners with the Sports, Entertainment, and Arts Law (SEAL) Center at Mississippi College School of Law to shape student-facing programming, strengthen professional networks, and foster collaboration among students and faculty.

The Student Advisory Board strengthens the Center’s impact by (1) expanding students’ professional networks with practitioners, alumni, and industry partners; (2) creating research and publication opportunities in sports, entertainment, and arts law; and (3) advising and working closely with the SEAL Center Co-Directors on Center initiatives, including SEAL
Center events and experiential learning opportunities. Student Advisory Board members serve as liaisons between the students and SEAL Center leadership, helping identify emerging issues, cultivate partnerships, and explore new skills-focused offerings.

In collaboration with the student-run Sports, Entertainment, and Arts Law Society, the Center hosts guest speakers, panel discussions, and collaborative events, designed to encourage and facilitate academic and professional growth by providing opportunities to connect with professionals and other students passionate about these areas of the law. Students can also pursue the SEAL Certificate to maximize their training in this area.
