Mission First Legal Aid Clinic

Help provide legal help to those in need with guardianships, custody and visitation, landlord/tenant, property, expungements, and consumer cases.

The Mission First Legal Aid Office is a nonprofit, public interest law office that provides legal advice and representation to individuals and families in the Jackson metro area who are in need but unable to afford an attorney. Mississippi College School of Law partners with Mission First to provide assistance for a variety of matters, including guardianships, custody and visitation, landlord/tenant, property, expungements, and consumer cases. MC Law students enrolled in the Mission First Legal Clinic can assist with every aspect of this work, including initial client meetings, research and drafting, and appearing in court, and will work on multiple cases involving different areas of law.

Mission First is located at 858 North Street, Jackson, MS, and is open five days a week.  Students can coordinate their schedules around classes and obligations. The Mission First Legal Aid Office is part of Mission First, Inc., a nonprofit that seeks to serve others by meeting their practical needs. Anyone seeking assistance from the Mission First Legal Aid Office can visit the Mission First website or call 601.608.0056.
