Once annually, MC Law presents a loan assistance award to an alumnus pursuing a career in public interest law or with a non-profit organization.
The LRAP assists those alumni who demonstrate a long-term commitment to serving poor or underserved populations through either direct legal services or policy related work. Requirements to be considered for the LRAP include the following:
- Graduated from MC School of Law in the past 10 years
- Licensed to practice law
- Currently working, at least 75% of full time, in a public interest or public service law job (judicial clerks will be considered for an award)
- Must have outstanding educational loans (from any degree, not just J.D.)
- All loans must be current or in good standing
- Current salary will be a consideration by the committee in its selection
