The Federal Bar Association provides a phenomenal learning and networking opportunity for law students. Membership in the Federal Bar Association provides access to learning and educational opportunities in all realms of federal practice. As a law student, you can get access to everything the Federal Bar Association provides through a student membership that is free of charge. The free membership extends for a year after law school. Through the Federal Bar Association, students get access to a mentor who is a practicing attorney somewhere in the United States. Monthly meetings generally have local speakers from around Jackson who are somehow involved in federal practice from attorneys to judges and their clerks. This first-hand opportunity to learn provides a unique chance to receive knowledge and wisdom from various practitioners that is highly beneficial to learn and understand as a future lawyer.
