Graduation Regalia Policy
All students participating in a Mississippi College School of Law commencement ceremony must conform to the regalia requirements for their degree as set forth in this policy. Candidates for Doctor of Jurisprudence wear the official Mississippi College School of Law regalia of black robe with 3 purple stripes, black mortar board with purple tassel and hood. Additionally, your mortar caps should not be altered in any way, i.e., decorated. Tams are permitted.
The Office for Student Services has the authority to prevent a student from participating in the graduation ceremony if the student’s attire violates the spirit of this policy. A student found in direct violation of this policy shall be disciplined and discipline may result in having the degree withheld and/or having the violation reported as part of a bar certification.
