The Civil Law Society Is a Community for Students From Louisiana and Those Wishing to Practice There.

Not only does this organization prepare students for the Louisiana Bar Exam, it also provides opportunities for networking with exceptional legal professionals within the state. Additionally, the executive team informs members of different job openings in Louisiana ranging from Summer Clerk positions to Associate and Clerk positions upon graduation. Since the legal principles of civil law differ from those in common law, participating in this society is a great way to ensure students are prepared to practice Louisiana civil law.

“In order to receive the Mardi Gras colored chord for being a Civil Law Society member, students must pay annual dues and attend at least two meetings or events each school year. Our meetings are tailored to Louisiana culture to make students feel more at home during their law school journey in Jackson. We hope all Louisiana students or those interested in practicing civil law will join the Civil Law Society family.
