To assist patrons in utilizing the circulation system, the library allows attorneys, paralegals and law librarians the opportunity to obtain library cards. Library cards are available for a $20.00 annual fee. They are issued in the names of individuals and not firm names. The card holder may authorize others to use the card by completing the information on the reverse of the application. Anyone wishing to check materials out of the library must have a current library card and present it at check out. A patron must also have a library card to check out items on reserve, for a three-hour period. Not all library items are available for check out by library card holders or any other patrons. Items that may not leave the library are primarily reserve materials, materials that require loose-leafing, and serials.
To obtain a library card, simply request and complete the application and submit it along with $20.00 to Bethany Hartfield, Circulation Assistant, Mississippi College School of Law Library, 151 East Griffith Street, Jackson, Mississippi, 39201. Patrons may request an application over the telephone, by mail or in person. Renewal notices are sent one month prior to the expiration of the card.
