PRESENTATIONS:
Bethany Bridges presented a paper at the Southeast/Southwest Law Faculty of Color Legal Scholarship Conference, held February 2016, in Orlando, Florida. Bridges' paper won First Places in the national law student writing competition, sponsored by the conference. Bridges paper is titled, For Better or Worse, Doing Time Do We Part: Post-Obergefell Marriage in Prison.
Jou-Chi Ho presented at the Symposium of the crit, Critical Legal Studies Journal at the University of Idaho College of Law, April 2014. Ho's paper was titled, A Fresh Look at Plyler v. Doe: Demanding Special, Consistent, Consideration for Plyler Students, Using Immigration Law, Contract Law, Tort Law, and Criminal Law. Ho was a guest presenter to the symposium, with the University of Idaho paying his travel and accommodation expenses.
La'Toyia Slay presented a paper at the Southeast/Southwest Law Faculty of Color Legal Scholarship Conference, held February 2014, in Houston, Texas. Slay’s paper won First Place in the national law student writing conference sponsored by the conference. Her paper is titled, A Letter to My Nephew: An Overview of the Racial and Legal Impact of Major Cases and Controversies throughout America in 2013.
Rasheena Latham presented a paper at the Southern Region BLSA 2014 Convention held February 2014, in Jacksonville, Florida. Latham presented her publication, Who Really Murdered Trayvon?
