Professor Johnson has been teaching Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Labor Law and Employment Discrimination for over thirty years. She served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Charles Clark of the Fifth Circuit, and was active in local and state Bar Associations, serving as President of the Hinds County Bar and the Jackson Young Lawyers. She has been chairing the state committee to reform the penal code for twenty years, and is currently working on a series of articles to promote the reform of the penal code. She has also written several law review articles on Employment Discrimination, which she practiced for several years. In 2012 she was rated in the top ten of the Mississippi Business Journals Leaders in Law.
