The Association of American Law Schools (AALS) has acquired Rosenblatt’s Deans Database (RDD), a resource created in 2008 by Jim Rosenblatt, Dean Emeritus of MC School of Law, to track and analyze information about law school deans, including tenure, demographics, education, and career paths. Now renamed AALS Rosenblatt’s Deans Database, it will remain under that title for at least five years, with AALS hosting and maintaining it while Rosenblatt serves as a special consultant and member of a deans’ steering committee. Praising the RDD as a valuable tool for legal education research and leadership, AALS also announced the creation of the Rosenblatt Trophy, to be awarded annually to the longest-serving law school dean. Rosenblatt, who served as MC Law dean from 2003–2014 and spent 30 years in the Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps, said he is pleased the database will have a permanent and well-supported home.
