-TJ Taylor (‘14) has been appointed by Speaker Phillip Gunn to serve on the new Commission to Redesign the Mississippi State Flag.
-U.S. Magistrate Judge Linda Anderson ('85) is the recipient of the 2020 Susie Blue Buchanan Award from the Women in the Profession of the Mississippi State Bar. The award honors a woman in the profession who has achieved professional excellence and has actively paved the way to success for other women lawyers.
-Governor Tate Reeves appointed Senator Sally Burchfield Doty ('91) to serve as the Director of the Mississippi Public Utilities Staff. Senator Doty has served three terms in the Mississippi Senate representing District 39.
-Rachel Wilson ('00) was selected to serve as the Executive Director of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance where she previously served as its Senior Staff Attorney. Rachel also is a judge advocate in the 172nd Wing of the Air Guard.
-Kevin Camp ('97) was recently promoted to the rank of Colonel and invested as the Military Judge for the Mississippi Army National Guard.
-Carlyn Hicks ('10) has been appointed by Chief Justice Randolph to serve as a special judge for the Hinds County Court. The appointment is to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Priester. Carlyn previously served as Director of the Mission First Legal Aid Office.
-Jarvis Dortch ('13) who serves in the Mississippi House of Representatives from District 66 was recently named the Executive Director of the Mississippi ACLU.
-Francis Horton III ('87) was named vice-president of Send Relief overseeing its international operations. Since 2016 Francis has served as regional director for West Africa with Samaritan's Purse. From 2008-15 Francis was area director for Central and South Asia with Baptist Global Response.
