Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. Mississippi Moot Court Championship
The 5th Annual Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. Mississippi Moot Court Championship (MMCC) takes place this spring. The annual appellate competition between the Moot Court Boards of Mississippi College School of Law and the University of Mississippi School of Law takes place April 3rd and 4th, 2008. During the past five years this appellate rivalry has become the premier event in the Mississippi law school community.
The Mississippi College School of Law (MCSOL) Moot Court Board is also pleased to announce the addition of the MMCC's new sponsor. Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C., one of the top labor & employment firms in the nation, has agreed to sponsor the MMCC's 5th installment, and to continue this sponsorship on an annual basis. The MCSOL Board and Mississippi College School of Law eagerly anticipate the continued opportunities the MMCC affords their advocates to hone their oral advocacy skills before esteemed members of the legal community.
The 5th Annual Mississippi Moot Court Championship final argument judges will consist of two partners from Ogletree Deakins, the Honorable Judge Dan Jordan of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi, the Honorable Judge E. Grady Jolly of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Honorable Judge Duane Benton of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, presiding.
The MCSOL Board welcomes the opportunity to host the 5th Annual Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. Mississippi Moot Court Championship, and looks forward to the competition's continued presence as a focal point of MCSOL's spring semester.
