Wells Griffith Elected 2008-2009 Division Vice Chair-SBA!

Congratulations to MC Law third year, Wells Griffith ‘09 on his election to the American Bar Association (ABA) Law Student Division position of Vice Chair-Student Bar Association! Griffith was elected on August 9, 2008 during the ABA Annual Meeting in New York City. After a round of speeches and question and answer session, the Student Bar Association (SBA) Presidents of all ABA accredited law schools voted to elect Griffith to serve as their Vice Chair-SBA. In an essence, Griffith serves as the president of ABA accredited law school’s SBA Presidents.

In this national position, Griffith will be responsible for regularly communicating with SBA Presidents at each ABA approved law school. Griffith will serve on the Law Student Division’s Executive Board, which will require him to travel to various cities across the nation where he will represent the ABA, and more importantly MC Law. Griffith will also oversee the relationship between SBA and ABA organizations at local, regional, and national levels, in addition to a number of other important duties.

Griffith looks forward to fulfilling his duties as Vice Chair-SBA, along with his duties as President the Law Student Bar Association here at MC Law. When asked how he was going to manage to fulfill his duties as Vice Chair-SBA and President of the LSBA, Griffith stated, “it will be a challenge, but with the leadership of the Woody Ketcham (LSBA Vice-President) and all of the members of Mississippi College’s LSBA, I have no doubt that this year will be a success. I am truly looking forward to the impact we can make here at our law school, as well as at all ABA accredited law schools.
