MC Law Finishes in Top 16 of National Health Law Competition

The National Health Law Competition, hosted by Southern Illinois University School of Law, is one of the nation’s premier moot court competitions and attracts teams from across the country. This year MC Law was one of 33 teams that participated in the competition. Represented by third-year advocates Michael Bernier and Larry McCarty, MC Law traveled to Carbondale, IL, on Nov. 5-6.

Bernier and McCarty competed against teams from University of New Mexico, University of Tulsa Law, and Marquette Law School.  The team advanced all the way to the quarterfinal round of the competition.

“The competition was an overall success,” said McCarty. “We learned a great deal about the issues we argued and enjoyed the interaction with local health law attorneys from the Carbondale area.”

The team was coached by Professor Will, as well as Kathryn Gilchrist and David Donnell of Adams and Reese.
