MS Gubernatorial Debate 2011

 

The winners of the Democratic and Republican primaries in the race for governor met at a debate on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Mississippi College School of Law.  Mississippi Lieutenant Governor Phil Bryant and Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree provided statements, fielded questions from a panel of journalists and students, and concluded with a summary of what they would offer the citizens of Mississippi if elected to serve as Mississippi's Governor.  

 

WLBT news anchor Maggie Wade served as the moderator and MC Law Dean Jim Rosenblatt provided a welcome and a conclusion.  AARP served as the sponsor for the debate.

 

The debate was broadcast live throughout the State of Mississippi by WLBT Channel 3 and its statewide partners.  It also was shown in the Memphis area.  It is 57 minutes long and includes two station breaks.
