On February 8, 2012, Professor Angela Mae Kupenda and Dr. Michelle D. Deardorff (Professor of Political Science, Jackson State University) presented at the University of Florida, Levin College of Law (UF). Their visit was sponsored and primarily funded by the UF Journal of Law and Public Policy and the UF Center for the Study of Race and Race Relations. The center hosted a panel discussion comprised of contributors to the University of Florida Journal of Law and Public Policy December 2011 issue, which was a special edition focusing on race. The panel discussion, themed, "Race Talk in the Age of Obama," provided a forum for Kupenda, Deardorff and other contributors to summarize their articles and answer questions from journal editors and staff, and the audience. Kupenda and Deardorff's lead article in the issue is "Negotiating Social Mobility and Critical Citizenship: Institutions at a Crossroads," 22 U. F. J. L. & Pub. Pol'y 335 (Dec. 2011).
