Kate Knudson Named MC Law's First Top Gun Winner

MC Law Moot Court Board's first Top Gun Competition was held on September 22-25, on the campus of MC Law.  Sixteen top trial students competed for a chance to win a thousand dollar scholarship.

The competitors were selected by trial practice professors, and attorney coaches.  Third-year advocates competing are Zach Busey; Thomas Cooley; Giovanni Diaz; Keith Hoffman; Kate Knudsen; Brandon Langford; Josh Leggett; Andrew McDowell; Jessica Murray; Karen Nazaire; Cecilia Ndounda; Molly Poole; Scherri Prince; Peter Stokes; Zach Weaver and Neil Wilson.

With only five days to prepare and no help from outside assistance, the competitors were judged by single elimination. Zach Busey and Kate Knudsen advanced to the final round.

“MC Law does not just educate future lawyers, it prepares skillful advocates who are ready to try cases,” said Busey.  “It was an honor just to be invited to participate in the Top Gun Competition.”

Kate Knudsen was announced as MC Law’s First Top Gun winner Saturday, Sept. 25. “I am so incredibly honored to have won the competition and thankful to MC Law for taking the time to make a competition of this nature possible,” said Knudsen.  “I had to compete against peers and friends and the competition is unlike anything I have ever experienced.”

Witnesses for the competition were Mississippi College undergraduate students and law school students.
