Kenneth Feinberg to Speak at Legal Symposium
Kenneth Feinberg, administrator of the Gulf Coast Claims Facility, will deliver the keynote address at the Mississippi College Law Review Symposium. The event will be held Friday, Feb. 18 at the law school. The program starts at 8:00 a.m., with Feinberg's address starting at 11 a.m.
Feinberg was appointed by the Obama administration and British Petroleum (BP) to serve as administrator of the Gulf Coast Claims Facility in 2010. He was also appointed by the Attorney General of the U.S. to serve as the special master of the Federal September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001.
The program will consist of two panel discussions and a keynote address focusing on the legal implications and consequences of the oil spill crisis.
The symposium panel features Professors Kenneth Murchison, of Louisiana State University, David Robertson, of the University of Texas, Edward Sherman, of Tulane, Byron Stier, of Southwestern Law School and Trudy Fisher, executive director of the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality.
