MC Law Family Day 2012
February 2012 -
MC Law hosted Family Day on February 17, welcoming 180 people to the campus for a day of interaction and exposure. “Family Day is an exciting opportunity for our MC Law family members to visit the law school and see just what it is their family member is learning,” says Karen Flowers, Director of Alumni.
The event kicked off with several speeches from noted faculty and alumni, including: Dean Pat Evans, Assistant Dean for Admissions; Mike Maloney ‘80, Executive Director of Alumni; Professor Vicki Lowery ‘98, Director of Appellate Advocacy; Professor Meta Copeland ‘98, Director of Legal Extern Program; Bob Anderson ‘87, President of MC Law Alumni Association; Dee Shandy, Esq. ‘98; and Tyler Shandy, Esq. ‘11.
Following the introduction, families were guided to court rooms to witness a Moot Court demonstration, featuring members of MC Law’s nationally-ranked Advocacy Program, led by Professor Vicki Lowery ’98. Three teams - Duberstein, Pace, and NAAC - offered arguments and were judged by a panel of three judges. After the completion of the Moot Court exhibit, lunch was provided in the CNF building. To conclude the day, families were given the option of sitting in on a class taught by Professor Richard Meyer or touring the campus.
