MC Law Hosts Second Annual 1L Closing Argument Competition
Mississippi College School of Law hosted the second annual 1L Closing Argument Competition, April 6-9, 2011. Twenty-four first year students competed in the competition, sponsored by the Advocacy Society and the Moot Court Board. Each competitor received a fact pattern of their case, created a ten minute closing argument, and competed in two preliminary rounds, once for each side of the case. The following competitors with the four highest scores after the preliminaries advanced to the semi-final round: Sam Gregory, Kyle Moore, Amber Sheppard, and Justin Warren.
Moore and Warren advanced to compete against each other in the final round. After arguing in front of a four-judge pannel, Warren was chosen as this year's winner.
