MC Law Advances to Championship Round in National Civil Rights Competition

MC Law claimed second place in the 2010 Peter James Johnson National Civil Rights Trial Competition. The team traveled to New York, NY, on Oct. 21-24 to participate in the competition, which is the only one of its kind in the country.  Participation is by invitation only, and MC Law was one of sixteen schools invited.

The students competed against teams from South Texas College of Law and Temple University in the semifinal and quarterfinal rounds. MC Law then advanced to the final round, where it faced a team from American University Washington College of Law.

Representing MC Law were third-year advocates Zachary Busey and Katherine Knudsen and second-year witnesses Paul Rosenblatt and Meredith Price.

The team was coached by Amy Strickland ’08 of the Office of Capital Post Conviction Counsel.
