MC Law Teams Compete in Regional Arbitration Competition

On November 20-21, 2010, two MC Law teams traveled to Los Angeles, CA, to compete in the Regional ABA Arbitration Competition.  One team was composed of third-year advocates Jessica Murray and Zachary Busey and second-year witnesses Trey Clark and Betsy Kelly.  The other team included third-year advocates Thomas Cooley and Scherrie Prince, second-year witness Abby Ersin, and first-year witness Samuel Gregory.

The regional round of competition was hosted by Southwestern Law School, and teams traveled from around the country to participate in the arbitration, which focused on an employment dispute over a whistleblower statute.  Students conducted witness examinations, introduced exhibits, and presented opening and closing statements.  The national finals of the competition will be held on January 21-22, 2011.

Both MC Law teams were coached by Professor Meredith Aden; Bill Leech of Copeland, Cook, Taylor & Bush; and Jennie Pitts of Chhabra & Gibbs.
