Professor Angela Mae Kupenda spoke on a plenary panel at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law. She participated in the Joint Conference of the Asian Pacific American Law Faculty and the Western Law Teachers of Color, April 24-26, 2008. The conference's theme was Legacies: When is the Past Really Past?. Kupenda spoke on the Plenary Panel: Critical Pedagogy: The Law School Classroom and Beyond. Her talk focused on love, as a revolutionary force, and whether, for law faculty of color, love of one's own color is consistent with teaching responsibilities. More specially her talk was titled: An Educator's Affirmative and Constitutionally Supported Duty: Promoting Positive (and Inclusive) Race Speech.
