Professor Angela Mae Kupenda made a presentation at the 2008 Society of American Law Teachers' (SALT) Teaching Conference, March 14 - 15, 2008. The SALT conference was sponsored by the Thelton E. Henderson Center for Social justice, University of California, Berkeley School of Law-Boalt Hall. Prof. Kupenda chaired her panel. Her presentation was titled, "Taking Risks when your Presence Places You at Risk: Guidelines for Women and Faculty of Color." She brought to her presentation lessons she has learned from teaching for almost 20 years. In addition to her 11 years of experience at our law school, Kupenda has taught at Notre Dame Law School as a visiting professor, Boston College Law School as a visiting professor, Franklin Pierce Law Center as the Distinguished Visiting Professor of Teaching Excellence, University of Mississippi in the Business School, and Jackson State University in the Business School. She also was the Scholar in Residence at Pine Manor Women's College in Boston, and has been involved in the public school system in Jackson.
