Mississippi College School of Law (MCSOL) will offer an Executive Law School Program beginning in the fall of 2008. This program will allow students to extend their legal studies over five years instead of the traditional three years.
The program is designed to appeal to business people, educators, real estate professionals, or medical personnel who want to obtain a law degree but can’t give up their current employment to attend law school full time. With the Executive Law School Program, they would be able to continue their employment or profession and attend law school.
Participants in the program would need to have some control over and flexibility in their work schedules to permit them to take at least eight hours of legal courses per semester. Most of the courses required initially are taught during the day.
Those interested in the program should apply to take the Law School Admission Test (www.LSAC.org or 215-968-1001) which is next offered in June 2008. They should also register with the Law School Data Assembly Service (www.LSAC.org), complete the regular on-line MCSOL application at the same site, and send a letter to the MCSOL Admissions Office indicating they are making application for the Executive Law School Program. An application can also be obtained from the MCSOL web page (http://law.mc.edu/admissions/application.pdf). The application must be submitted by June 1, 2008.
MCSOL anticipates taking a small number of highly qualified applicants in the first year of the program.
