Chaz Mangum ('18) has been elected 2017-2018 Southern Region Parliamentarian for the National Black Law Student Association.
Chaz Mangum, a native of Pearl, Miss., is a rising 3L at Mississippi College School of Law. He studied American Studies at the University of Southern Mississippi. Magnum says his Alma Mater equipped him with the skills necessary to succeed in law school: chief among them is the idea that the ability to analyze problems using various academic “perspectives” – political, historical, social, economic - leads to better understanding and outcomes.
Chaz is passionate about social justice equality, and holding those in power to account. Chaz believes that the story of America is a progression toward placing into practice the eloquent words placed in the defiant declaration: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men [and women] are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
