Carlyn Hicks (’10) to Present at National Judicial Engagement Convening II
Alum Carlyn Hicks will present at the 2017 National Judicial Engagement Convening II sponsored by Casey Family Programs. The event will take place October 24-26 in Kansas City, Mo. Hicks will present on Establishing Standards–Based Legal Representation in Dependency Cases and share practices and long-term strategies developed in Mississippi to expand and enhance the quality of legal representation for families in Youth Court through Standards of Practice. Additionally, she will share information on the growth and goals of the Mississippi Parent Representation Program, and the Mission First model of Parent Representation.
Attendees will include 18 state and tribal court teams and child welfare agency leadership who will convene to share accomplishments, challenges and strategies in joint leadership collaboration and court practice improvement.
